Frequently Asked Questions
Is therapy for me?
Reaching out for help can be a difficult step. Navigating mental health resources is sometimes overwhelming. Everyone has their own personal reasons for seeking mental health services. I offer free, no-commitment consultations for you to decide if I am the right fit.
what can i expect from therapy?
The most important aspect of therapy is having a trusting, safe and non-judgmental space. During the initial session, we will explore the reasons for you seeking out therapy and identify what you would like to get out of therapy (e.g., treatment goals). We will also work together to make sure you are getting what you need out of therapy.
How do i know therapy is working?
The road to achieving your goals is not a straight one. I am here to help you deal with bumps along the way, while not losing sight of your overall goals. It is important that therapy is a collaborative process, so that we can make sure that it is working for you.
How often do i need to come to therapy?
Generally, the number of therapy sessions and how often you attend therapy depends on your unique circumstances. We can work together to decide what will work best for you.
Is therapy covered by insurance?
Most employee health care plans offer coverage for psychological services up to a certain dollar amount. Although direct billing is not available, I do provide detailed receipts that can be used for reimbursement. I encourage you to look into your coverage before attending your first appointment.
Do you offer appointments on evenings and weekends?
I understand that attending sessions during regular work hours can sometimes be challenging. I try to be flexible to provide sessions whenever works best for you. I am available on evenings and offer occasional weekend appointments.
